Part V- Making FastPass+ Selections

Making your FastPass+ selections on My Disney Experience is rather easy. But I cannot stress enough the importance of the pre-planning that we did. In this phase I knew what rides we wanted to ride and roughly what time of the day we wanted to ride them based on our dining and other plans. I say this is key because when I went to make my FastPass+ selections, even though we were 60 days out, there were still some FastPass+ rides that were already gone for the time I wanted, so I had to make quick decisions on changes in our plans and this was easy because I knew what I could switch around.

The first thing I did was made sure I was online and in the app when it was time to make selections, that is 7am ET on the 60-day mark if you are staying on property and the 30-day mark if you are not staying on property. Because I knew the Flight of Passage and Na’vi River are VERY popular I started with the days we are going to be an Animal Kingdom. The first day we are going to be at Animal Kingdom there were no FastPass+ available for Flight of Passage, so I quickly finished off the remaining selections for that day in Animal Kingdom and moved straight to our 2^nd planned day at Animal Kingdom to look for a Flight of Passage FastPass+. I was lucky there were some for the 2^nd day we planned to be at the park and so then finished up the passes in Animal Kingdom. I think proceeded back to the remaining days at WDW and each park.

Here are a few key tips that I discovered while making my selections:

• MOST IMPORTANT!! EPCOT has a tiered system for FastPass+ selection. The following rides are in Tier 1 and you can only select one of these per day! I did not know this and made the mistake of trying to have two of these selections on the same day, which the My Disney Experience App will not allow.

• Don’t forget that Hollywood Studios also has a tiered approach. You much chose 1 from Tier 1 and 2 from Tier 2 each day.

• If you want a specific time, find it along the top of the screen and select it so that the app will quickly show you what is available at time.
• When you are making selections, the app will not allow you to make a selection in the window for which you already have a FastPass+. For example, if you have a FastPass+ for Peter Pan’s Flight from 9:45-10:45am, you cannot select a FastPass+ for Haunted Mansion that starts at 10:30am.
• The app will show you your dining reservations and any other reminders you have set for yourself while you make your selections to ensure you don’t overbook yourself.
• Once you have made selections they show up in My Plan.

The key is to plan ahead so that when the times come you can effectively and efficiently make your FastPass+ selections.

Know what rides are most important to your family so that you have a memorable trip and then make those a priority!
